1. How to apply for studying in China at your own expense:

2. Types of students and duration of professional study
The length of professional study for various types of international students is:
Undergraduate: 4 to 5 academic years
Master’s degree students: 2 to 3 academic years
Doctoral students: 3 academic years
There is no limit to the length of study for Chinese language students, general advanced students, and advanced advanced students
3. Applicant qualifications
1. Must be a non-Chinese citizen and in good health;
2. Applicant’s educational background:
a. Those who come to China to study undergraduate majors must have a high school diploma or above;
b. Those who come to China to study for a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree or above;
c. Those who come to China to study for a doctoral degree must have a master’s degree or above;
d. As a Chinese language student coming to China to learn, you must have a high school diploma or above;
e. As a general advanced student who comes to China to study, he must have a second-year university degree or above;
f. Those who come to China for research as senior advanced students must have the academic ability equivalent to a master’s degree or above or the title of associate professor or above
4. Chinese universities’ fees for self-financed international students studying in China
Liberal arts undergraduates and advanced students: 14,000-26,000 yuan (academic year)
Master’s degree students and senior visiting scholars: RMB 18,000-30,000 (academic year)
Doctoral students: 22,000-34,000 yuan (academic year)
Short-term students: 3,000- 4,800 yuan (month)
For science, engineering, and agriculture subjects, the tuition standard of the corresponding categories of liberal arts will rise by 10%-30%
The tuition standard of medicine, sports, and art subjects will be increased by 50%-100% according to the corresponding liberal arts subjects.
Registration fee: 400-800 yuan
Accommodation fee: Live in the on-campus dormitory for international students, and pay according to the school’s housing fees.
Other expenses: Meals, school medical expenses, teaching materials fees, and expenses for experiments, internships, and professional visits outside of the teaching plan shall be paid according to the standards set by the school.
5. Application materials for studying in China at their own expense
1. “Application Form for Studying in China at Personal Expenses”, in duplicate;
Foreign educational institutions, non-governmental friendly groups dispatched to China for self-financed learners or individuals who apply for self-financed study in China must fill in and submit this form. The application form can be obtained from the Chinese embassy or consulate in the local area, or from the China Scholarship Council website. /www.csc.edu.cn/ download.
2. A notarized copy of the highest degree certificate; if the applicant is a school student or is already employed, he/she needs to submit an enrollment certificate issued by his school or an employment certificate issued by the employer;
3. A copy of the notarized high school examination transcript (for undergraduate applicants) or academic transcript (for other types of students);
4. A copy of the “Foreigner Physical Examination Record” (uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department) (in duplicate);
Applicants must strictly follow the items required in the “Foreigner Physical Examination Record” for inspection. The “Foreigner Physical Examination Record” that is missing, does not have a photo of the person affixed, or is not stamped with a seam seal is invalid. In view of the fact that the examination result is valid for 6 months, the applicant is requested to determine the time for the physical examination accordingly.
5. Those who are studying for master’s or doctoral degree and those who apply to study in China as advanced scholars must submit two recommendation letters (with Chinese or English translations attached) from associate professors or above or persons with equivalent professional titles, and those who apply for master’s or doctoral degree in China , The admission notice of the school must be issued;
6. Students applying for music majors must submit 1 cassette tape of their own works; students applying for fine arts majors must provide 6 color photos of their works (including 2 sketches, 2 color paintings, 2 others) work);
The application materials for self-financed students who come to China through the China Scholarship Council should be mailed to the China Scholarship Council before May 31st.
Six, admission matters
1. Those who apply for self-financed study in China through the China Scholarship Council will be arranged to study in 88 institutions of higher learning that accept Chinese government scholarship students. The China Scholarship Council will send the “Admission Notice” and “Visa Application Form for Studying in China” (JW202 Form) to relevant foreign educational institutions and non-governmental organizations before July 31 to forward the students themselves.
2. Individuals who apply to study in China at their own expense should be sent to the students themselves by the Chinese higher education institutions with the Admission Notice and the Visa Application Form for Studying in China (JW202) before July 31.
